Ingredients Needed

to prepare this delicious pasta , we will need :

  • 12 ounces of spaghetti works wonderfully
  • 500g ground beef
  • 800g sauce spaghetti
  • 225g cheese

  • Garlic or Italian seasoning
  • Others: Feel free to toss in veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms, or swap the ground beef for Italian sausage for a twist.

These ingredients create a dish that’s not only easy but also customizable, perfectly tailored to suit your family’s tastes!

Preparing the Dish

Start by bringing a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Once the water is bubbling, add 12 ounces of spaghetti and cook until it’s al dente, which usually takes about 8 to 10 minutes.

In a skillet, brown 1 pound of lean ground beef over medium-high heat, making sure to break it apart as it cooks. Once browned, drain the fat and stir in a 28-ounce jar of spaghetti sauce combined with minced garlic and Italian seasoning.

For that all-important cheesy creaminess, add 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and let it melt into the sauce, creating a rich flavor that everyone will love. Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a prepared baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce at the bottom.

Next, layer half of the cooked spaghetti evenly over the sauce. Sprinkle half of the grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by more meat sauce, the remaining pasta, and finish with the last of the sauce and cheeses.

Bake for about 30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown. Your family will be eagerly awaiting this comforting dish! After baking, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. This resting time helps the layers set a bit, making it easier to serve.

For an extra touch, consider garnishing with fresh parsley or a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese to elevate its presentation.

Variations and Customizations : Adding Meat

One of the simplest ways to enhance your baked spaghetti is by incorporating meat. Ground beef is a classic choice, but you can also use Italian sausage for a bit more spice or ground turkey for a leaner option. For added depth, consider mixing in some meatballs.

Incorporating Vegetables : To make your dish more nutritious and colorful, think about adding vegetables.  Chopped bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms can be sautéed with the ground meat for additional flavor.

Using Different Types of Cheese : Cheese is truly where the customization shines. While cheddar is beloved, try experimenting with mozzarella, Parmesan, or even Fontina for a richer flavor. Mixing several types can result in an irresistible blend that melts perfectly .
